Tuesday 3's

Good morning!

I'm running a bit late this morning since my alarm decided to not go off. Yikes.

First up, it is my friend Kaaren's birthday today! I'm excited to celebrate with her tomorrow--hopefully grabbing some ice cream or something of the sort.

Ready for some Tuesday 3's?

1. I do not like mango one bit. Not mango itself, or mango-flavored things. I try to make myself like it, but there is just something about the taste and texture that throws me off every time. Instead, I resort to enjoying other summer fruits such as watermelon! I've been going through one a week lately because they are so good!

Holy dusty dash! P.S. My car was off--I don't drive on empty.

2. Whenever I have to run an errand before work, I always overestimate the amount of time I need--just in case. I hate being late to anything and it my book, unless I'm 10 minutes early, I am late. Is anyone else like this? I especially like to overestimate the time I need to pick up a coffee before work because I feel as though it would look bad to walk in 10 minutes late with a Starbucks in hand...you know?

3. Just to reiterate, I do not like bugs--and that includes spiders. Last night, I came home with a major migraine and was laying in bed, watching my show and minding my own business. This was the extent of my evening and therefore, after awhile, it began to get dark in my room. I didn't think anything of it because the dark actually was easier on my headache. While watching the show, I thought I saw something move in front of me out of the corner of my eye. I looked around and when I didn't see anything, I assumed it was just the screen reflecting in the glassy party of my phone, which was in front of me.

I shrugged it off and continued watching when all of the sudden, something was crawling on my arm! I screamed and immediately jumped out of bed and flicked on the lights! After some searching, I eventually found the little bugger and smashed him with the nearest object--my slipper. Ew, ew, ew! This thing wasn't just on my floor, or on the wall...but in my BED! The place where I sleep! Gross. I considered sleeping on the couch, but decided against it when I remembered how much more comfortable my bed is--and then proceeded to feel creepy-crawly all night...

Off to an appointment, then the office, followed by some pre-marital counseling!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for my friend Dana's guest post!

Short & Sweet: A Weekend in 3 Takes

Hello!

Thanks again for all of your wedding/engagement input! Seriously, it has been so helpful to have advice regarding some of these decisions. As our wedding day gets closer, our list of to-dos increases, so you can expect to see more wedding updates in the months to come.

First of all, for those that recommended I start watching Grey's Anatomy--you are BRILLIANT.
I started this on Saturday evening and am already obsessed! I love the cast and characters along with the medical scene for something new. I'm loving the fact that there are many seasons of it so I won't be running out of episodes anytime soon.

I am also very excited to report that our wedding website is almost complete! We decided to nix the standard website on theknot.com and instead create our own. We chose the domain name last week and will hopefully have a website up and running soon.

Also, with this cold, rainy weather, I've been a frequent Starbucks visitor. However, is that ever a surprise?

See you tomorrow for some Tuesday 3's; also, check back later in the week because the wonderful Dana of My Little Celebration will be guest posting!

Sum up your weekend in 3 words:
Is it cold where you live?
What are your plans for today?

E-Photo Shopping Recap

Good morning!

Thank you so much for the input that you provided regarding our upcoming engagement photos! It truly helped a lot and it was great to read some tips and advice as well.

After our busy day of shopping for clothes, we ended up finding almost everything that we needed. I just need to find some cute sandals and I think we will be all set We hit up Panera for lunch to fuel our shopping extravaganza; their black bean soup never lets me down--it is an all-time favorite.

On the way into the mall, we passed the Loft store, and Andy suggested that we pop in there to see if we could find something for me. Good thing that we did--I found a cute white shirt, 2 tanks, and a dress for our pictures. I was surprised at how much that store was on par with my style--I have never really shopped there before but I found myself really liking it after this experience.

I loved the tie on the back of the dress!

I also tried on the slate colored version of this dress, but Andy and I agreed that the blue was more casual and summery--perfect for our upcoming pictures!

We wound up at Macy's next--where we found some new polos for Andy. On our way out of Macy's, a black dress on a mannequin caught my eye. After trying it on, we agreed that it would be perfect for either our pictures or our rehearsal dinner.

Later on, we also picked up a new pair of jeans for both of us as well. After a quick stop at Best Buy to check out cell phone plan options (Andy has his own plan, and I'm on my parent's family plan but they are switching carriers next month so I'm going to hop onto a contract with Andy), we checked out our options to see what is out there. We are thinking of maybe getting basic phones for now, and then swapping them out when the new iPhone 5 comes out hopefully later this year.

After dropping off my new jeans at the tailor for some major hemming, we were starving and decided to cash in the gift cards for Macaroni Grill that I received in my bridesmaid bag from my sister's recent wedding.

Best thing about Macaroni Grill? They let you color on the tables! I had a blast doodling all over our paper table cloth while we waited for our dinner.

On that note, we're off to go grocery shopping since we didn't make it there yesterday! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Do you have any good recipes for black bean soup?
Do you like getting dressed up or would you rather be comfy and casual?
Who is your cell phone provider? I currently have Verizon but we're thinking of switching to AT&T...

Engagement Photo Options

Good morning!

Today Andy and I are heading out early to run some well-needed errands:

  1. Figure out our cell phone plan options: either add me to his current plan (Sprint) or switch to a different provider (AT&T or Verizon) so that we can get iPhones.
  2. Run to Sam's Club so that he can get his membership card and see what this great place is all about.
  3. Shop for engagement picture apparel! We both need to find some outfits that coordinate but don't match. Our engagement photo shoot is next week, so it is crucial that we find most of the items this weekend.
The third item on our Saturday to-do list is where you come in. I have a few ideas but would really appreciate some input because I'm not the most fashion-savy person.

I think I'll have about 2-3 outfits for the shoot; one dress and maybe two with jeans? As for my hair--that is still up in the air.

I'm thinking one of these 3 options:
Left to right: curly, hair up in a poof, down and straight

As for what we'll wear--I'm kind of clueless. I have a green sundress picked out, but need to come up with two others. Here are some ideas that I like:

dress, cardigan, belt, boots (source)

I love her shirt and boots but it might be a little too warm out for that...? (source)

Such a cute dress! (source)

I like the idea of doing a couple casual shots with jeans and a tee (source)

Love it! (source)

I like the colors and simplicity of these outfits (source)

Those are just some ideas--I'll let you know what we end up choosing. Im off to hit up the gym before we leave--I promised myself a Starbucks on the way back if I could get there early this morning. ;-)

How should I wear my hair? Curly, half up in a poof, or straight?
